Ting Yuen's Biography

Ting Yuen is a self-taught artist who has lived in five countries, and has traveled the world extensively. Her rich experiences are reflected in the colourful, whimsical and contemporary themes of her figurative acrylic paintings.
These paintings' poetic narratives of everyday existence engage the viewers to relate, smile and be inspired by life's beauty, ironies and quirks.
Ting paints with the belief that art has no rules. Pushing boundaries and creating her own ideas and styles, she allows her imagination and intuition to inspire the making of her witty stories, patterns, colours and shapes.
Since 1999, Ting has exhibited in Grand Cayman, Canada and the United States. Her paintings have
attracted many fine art and corporate collectors from all over the world and are featured in the
Grand Cayman National Museum's "permanent collection."
"I create lyrical worlds, where tribulations are perceived with inspiring humor; fetishes embraced with open arms, thoughts are symbolic, dreams are always infinite and an ideal world is possible. In many ways,my paintings compose a diary of my everyday life and aspirations, expressing fears and joys that are personal, but, at the same time, universal to the current consciousness." -Ting Yuen
