Stardust
This piece is part of Ting Yuen's Artist Diary series.
Stardust was inspired by Quinn, my friend’s little girl who loves stars. Every year when I finish my collection,
Quinn always appreciates my artwork that are adorned by starlit nights. Last year when Quinn came in with her mom, she saw one of my paintings, called Wishes Granted II where a girl was holding a basket collecting stars from
the sky. That evening, she mentioned to her mom that she was worried about the girl taking all the stars away
from the sky. This year, to soothe her worrisome soul, I’ve decided to paint Stardust, where the girl sitting on
the moon is blowing stars back into the sky so that wishes can always be made and heard.
