Gone Fishing
This painting is part of Ting Yuen’s Artist Diary series,
This is the second painting that I painted specifically for children’s rooms. It was great fun creating this image as I think about the funny things that kids do and how they would react on an outing. I started with the goodie two shoes that is trying really hard to slow down the pace of the parade of kids coming her way. I guess she knows all about geese crossing and therefore everyone else has to slow down to wait for the geese to traverse safely. The eldest boy wants nothing todo with it as he is focused on going home after the day of fishing, the second little boy is rushing the geese along before the traffic jam begins, the third kid, a little girl, looks like she had quite a day already and with a little bit of an attitude she pulled down her hat and decided to take a leap of faith and walk the tight rope with her hat over her eyes. The last little boy is travelling on his pony, still hoping to catch a couple more fish as he travels home.
