Enlightenment I

The lotus is one of my favourite flowers. It symbolizes beauty, life and enlightenment. The Lotus plant originated in parts of the Middle East and Asia. The beauty of the lotus has inspired many poets and artists alike and I for
one love to paint them. They are not an easy flower to paint because of the fragility and faceted beauty of the petals and I especially love to create the turning of the leaves, they assist me in creating movement and grace.
This painting reminds us to live life with beauty and to always be true to our souls.
