Days Gone By
This piece is part of Ting Yuen's Artist Diary series.
This is inspired by my fascination with the history of the area around Wells, B.C. Although the gold rush days are over and tourism, rather than mining is what attracts most people here these days, the spirit and energy live on. When I walk down the narrow streets of historical Barkerville, it feels like the old town is still part of the experience, leaving its imprint of the hustle and bustle of days gone by. Of its 125 historic buildings, I particularly like the old St. Saviour`s Church
